The Frederick News-Post reported on July 23 that a groundhog in the Taskers Chance neighborhood of Frederick has tested positive for rabies.
Frederick County Animal Control was called after the groundhog bit a dog.
The Frederick County Health Department is recommending that “anyone who may have had contact with a groundhog or any other wildlife consult their health care provider and notify the county’s Health Services Office at 301-600-3342.”
