Earlier this year, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources asked the Maryland Horse Council to conduct a survey of equestrians who ride in Maryland state parks to find out which parks equestrians ride in, what equestrians like most about the park(s), and what equestrians think DNR could do to improve the park(s). MHC sent out the survey in early summer, and over 485 trail riders responded.
MHC received overwhelmingly positive feedback from trail riders about the state parks, along with requests for improvements in a few discrete areas.
We created an infographic summarizing the survey results, which you can view here or by visiting either our Educational Resources or Trails Stewardship Committee sections of the website.
