The Maryland Horse Council, Inc. (MHC) is a § 501(c)(6) trade association that represents all segments of the Maryland horse industry, at the state and local level. MHC has been representing the Maryland horse industry for over 35 years.
Our accomplishments include: i) working to make some forms of animal cruelty a felony, not a misdemeanor; (ii) endorsing the law that defined horses as livestock and equine activities as agricultural; and (iii) launching the Maryland Equine Transition Service (METS).
