Equine Issues at the Federal Level

Vote Logo jpegAs mid-term elections approach, we would like to bring your attention to the American Horse Council's work on behalf of the equine industry nationwide. The AHC has created useful, one-page summaries describing the key issues they are working on with Congress and regulatory agencies. These issues affect some in Maryland’s equine industry as well.

Highlights include:

  • Equine health provisions in the Farm Bill
  • Ongoing advocacy for ELD flexibility
  • Federal funds for Equine Assisted Therapy, and
  • Equine Industry Specific flexibility for guest workers visas

The summaries are available at the AHC website -  https://www.horsecouncil.org/issue/legislation/ - or can be downloaded as one-page files below.  Stay involved and take action at the local, state, and national levels!
