Come out to the State Fair in Timonium for lots of horse activities.

The 2017 Maryland State Fair at Timonium is once again full of equestrian activities and opportunities to learn about and watch great horses.   

HORSELAND 2017 - Maryland Horse Industry partners will once again host 11 days of free equine educational and entertainment events with Horseland!  Do not miss the Military Tent Pegging, Day's End Farm Trick Pony, Muddy Creek Vaulters, Cowboy Mounted Shooting and Mounted Games at the Horseback Jamboree Thursday 6pm, Aug. 31st!  racing101 THOROUGHBRED 101 SEMINAR -  Come out to the Grandstand Grille on Saturday August 26th, 9-11AM to learn about the life stages of a thoroughbred race horse, from conception, to training, to racing and beyond.  This will be a chance to meet some of the people connected to the horses racing at the Maryland State Fair.  Get  special behind the scened look at what it takes to produce and own a horse.  In addition, get some pointers for handicapping the day's races.  Click here for more information
 racingatbigt RACING AT THE BIG T -  This year’s seven days of racing held during the Maryland State Fair boasts purses of $185,000 daily, up more than 16% from 2016’s $159,000 per day.  For the first time in many years, the meet will have an added money event: the $75,000 guaranteed (plus $25,000 for Maryland-Bred/Maryland-Sired) Coalition Stakes, for 3-year-olds and up going 6½ furlongs, with an additional $10,000 bonus to the winner if it is a Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale graduate. The stakes has been named for the spirit of cooperation between the Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association, the Maryland Horse Breeders Association, the Maryland State Fair and Agricultural Society, and Fasig-Tipton Sales Company.  For more information on Racing at Timonium click here
