Join the Maryland Horse Council!
The Maryland Horse Council has a unique membership structure, which allows it to represent the broadest spectrum of people involved with or interested in horses. Our membership consists of associations, farms, businesses, charities/foundations, and individuals. The Association members, e.g., breed enthusiasts, sport and discipline groups, etc. are each entitled to one vote on the Board of Directors. The other membership categories: Business, Farm, Charity/Foundation, and Individual, exercise their voting privileges through elected Directors-at-Large. Each of these categories elects one Director-at-Large for every 25 or fewer members of the category. This composition of the Board of Directors balances the voting strength of each of the diverse groups.
